Last week we welcomed a delegation of diplomats and football experts from Uganda to explore the opportunities of rolling out the Stars of Africa program in the Eastern African union. The main goal of the program is to identify and develop African Youth Football players and give them an ultimate Star experience by joining a yearly Stars of Africa tournament competing with the most talented youth players of the African continent.
The continental talent identification & development program is designed by the Dutch Sports Development company StarLab under supervision of the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports in close cooperation with a pool of very experienced international youth coaches. It aims to give African talents the experience to live their dream as an international football star and ignite them to further develop their talents.
"Africa has a huge potential of very talented football players. We strongly believe that a Continental Talent Development Platform offers a great opportunity to open new pathways for the people of Africa; empowering kids to change their reality and become stars both on and off the field"
By joining the continental program African kids get the chance to:
To train according to Worldclass standards
To compete with the most talented African youth players of the continent
To change their perspective on life
To learn how it is to live abroad
To adapt themselves to a new culture
To live a high performance lifestyle
To present themselves to international clubs scouts
During the visit of the delegation from the Eastern African union Starlab signed a letter of intent to join forces and explore the roll out of the program in the region. Beside that StarLab is currently investigating the opportunity to develop similar partnerships in both the West and South African region.
The main goal is to organize the first continental Stars of Africa Youth Tournament in the spring or summer of 2023 in the Cairo Olympic stadium.
